This unique tool was designed to compress the hydraulictiming belt tensioner when servicing the waterpump. The factory screw type tool is hard to use and stripseasily. This tool holds the timing belt in placeagainst the cam gear. There will be no need to reset thetiming as the engine is held at TDC (top deadcenter) and the belt will be held stationary when replacingthe water pump. Additionally servicing the timingbelt is easy by compressing the tensioner, slide the lockpin in the hydraulic tensioner, remove the tooland the belt can be replaced. This tool makes both waterpump replacement and timing belt replacementeasy.
